I’m excited to take part in LINE MACAN 2025, an international art camp organized by the National Art Gallery Langkawi, Malaysia. 18 artists from 9 countries will gather to create marble sculptures over 10 days, using locally sourced marble from Langkawi Island. The completed works will become part of the museum’s collection.
I’ll be staying in Langkawi from December 18 to 29, then traveling to Kuala Lumpur to research galleries and museums before returning to Japan in the New Year. It’s been a long time since I last worked with stone—since my student days. This year, I’ve had many meaningful encounters with physical materials like iron and stone, and I’m grateful to be traveling to two countries abroad.

The programme will take place at Gunung Raya Art Space (GRAS) from 19th to 28th December 2025.
