展覧会について：
本展は、2024年の夏にマレーシアで開催されたアーティスト・イン・レジデンス「Barehands Residency」に参加した塩井一孝の成果を紹介するものです。彼は国際交流基金クアラルンプール日本文化センターの支援を受け、約1ヶ月間、首都郊外にあるジャングルのスタジオを拠点に活動しました。現地を代表するアーティストの一人、ジュハリ・サイド氏の指導のもと、豊かな自然風景や神話からインスピレーションを得た作品を制作。マレーシア国立美術館ランカウイ分館にて成果個展を開催し、成功を収めました。この巡回展では、現地から持ち帰った作品による展示に加え、トークイベントを開催し一連の活動を振り返ります。ぜひこの機会に、日本とマレーシアの文化交流をお楽しみください。
アーティスト情報：
塩井一孝（Kazutaka Shioi）
アーティスト／九州大学芸術工学部 非常勤講師。1987年生まれ、福岡県宗像市在住。福岡教育大学大学院修了。身近な自然を題材に作品を制作している。主な個展に「Light of Langsuir」国立美術館ランカウイ分館, 主催：国際交流基金クアラルンプール日本文化センター（2024年, マレーシア）／「光の呼吸」みぞえ画廊（2023, 福岡）など多数。2022年に世界遺産・宗像大社に作品が収蔵、2024年に国立美術館レジデンスプログラム（マレーシア）に招聘された。

About Exhibition:
This exhibition highlights the creative outcomes of Kazutaka Shioi’s participation in the Barehands Residency, an artist-in-residence program held in Malaysia during the summer of 2024. Supported by the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, Shioi immersed himself in the orchard studio approximately one month. Guided by the mentorship of Juhari Said, one of Malaysia’s foremost artists, he created a body of work deeply inspired by the region’s natural landscapes and rich mythology. Following a successful solo exhibition at the National Art Gallery Langkawi, Malaysia, these works now make their way to Fukuoka, offering a fresh perspective on his Malaysian experience. Alongside the artworks, a series of talks will delve into Shioi’s creative journey, fostering reflection on cultural exchange and artistic collaboration. We warmly invite you to join us for this unique event, where art bridges the cultural landscapes of Japan and Malaysia.
